Why take a breathing class?If you... - Would like to improve the way you breathe? - Are curious about breathwork and want to learn more? - Would like to establish a regular breathing practice? - Are you having a difficult time with your meditation practice (yoga and breathing can be the bridge to establishing a meditation practice) - A breathing class can offer tools to address any mental or physical conditions you might be suffering from.

If I do a breathing class, do I have to sit still during the entire time?"No! Sitting is often one of the obstacles that stops people taking a breathing class, but we breathe in different positions, and if you are not comfortable you can change position at any time.

Is breathing and meditation the same thing?No, they are not the same thing. Breathing is a stepping stone to meditation that has some similar positive outcomes and side effects. If you have a hard time meditating – start with breathwork! Breathing techniques work faster. Some people find it easier to shift from a negative dull state using breathing exercises than with meditation. Breathing techniques bring you back from an anxious state to calm in a shorter time than purely meditation.

Why would I take a private yoga class?For the following reasons amonst others: Are you interested to try yoga, but not comfortable going to a group class? A private class is wonderful way to learn the fundamental postures, and establish a general understanding of yoga, breathing and alignment. Do you go regularly to a studio and might be stuck in a particular pose, need modifications for certain postures, or have unanswered questions? Would like to have a home practice tailored to your needs? Do you have an established practice and are looking for support, guidance and advice? Do you lack motivation to practice alone, and are not sure you are doing it right? ... If you answer yes to any of these a private class is just right for you

What is the difference between yoga and yoga therapy?The training a yoga therapist gets is very different from a yoga teacher. A yoga therapist receives a more indepth training of working one to one to help side effects of mental and physical conditions one might be suffering with. It is a process of empowering individuals to progress toward improved health and well being through the application of the teachings and practices of yoga.

Do you teach traditional pranayama?Yes, I do! but only to some people. There is so much to learn, and so many fun things to discover about the breath, and that’s where we start.
